How would you describe your cooking style?
"Bold, rustic and full of flavour, inspired by my childhood in Cornwall and love of seafood."
Where did you learn to cook and what experience do you have in the industry?
"Apart from my most recent years running top restaurants in St Ives (The Porthminster Beach Café
and The Porthgwidden Beach Café).
—I’ve spent several years as a freelance chef in and around London, where I had the opportunity to work alongside Michelin-starred chefs.
My culinary journey has also taken me around Australia, as well as to Thailand and India, where I attended specialist courses to enhance my skills and techniques across multiple cuisines and cultures.
These global experiences now underpin everything I do at Flavour and Wine, combining refined technique with local Cornish ingredients to create bespoke private dining experiences that are both elegant and deeply personal.

Rob’s journey in the culinary world spans decades, working in award-winning restaurants and renowned kitchens across the UK and Australia. Most recently, St Ives at the Porthminster Beach Cafe, followed by overseeing the running of their sister restaurant, Porthgwiden Beach Café, where his expertise helped win the Food Readers Award for Best Café 2020.
